Are You A True Spiritual Christian? Or One Of This World?

Are you a true Spiritual Christian?  Or are you a faux-believer of this world?  Perhaps the most accurate test is whether you can recall the previous lives your Soul has lived.  Quoting from http://ChristianReincarnation.org :

The concepts of man's reality that Jesus conveyed and taught his disciples, laid the foundational paradigm to bring about spiritual growth and development that evolved into a state of Absolute Enlightened Knowing -- stating to those he taught: "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32) -- with the key requirement in the words:  "...if you remain faithful to my teachings".  Which provokes the question: What about those who are faithful to the man-made dogma of various sects and Churches?   Will these man-made doctrines "make them free"?  Or provide the salvation they seek?  At the end of the Book of Luke (24:48) it is written: "Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures".  This act of opening the minds of the disciples could only be accomplished after years of Jesus' teaching his disciples and exploring with them the Mysteries of the Kingdom of God.  What was absolutely necessary to open the minds of his followers and disciples was to build upon a foundational paradigm of thinking and lifestyle that could be evolved into a condition of mental-advancement and spiritual maturity.  If you build upon a flawed foundational paradigm, then it will be impossible for you to attain the same results as envisioned in the Original Gospel teachings of Jesus.  The sacred teachings and concepts upon which the disciples thinking and mindset was erected upon, enabled them to comprehend the higher reality of the Soul and what is called the Sacred Knowledge of the Kingdom of God.   These Higher Teachings could not be taught or revealed to those whose mind and life were not conducive to receiving the Higher Knowledge or Divine Manna of the Kingdom -- "And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it.  But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples" (Mark 4:33-34).   Which confirms the fact that the original disciples and core follower had access to important teachings and concepts that were not made -- or could not be made -- available to the people outside the immediate body of seekers.   When Jesus was questioned as to why the Sacred Knowledge could not be revealed to the multitude of people who came to hear his teachings, he replied: “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding” (Mark 4:11-12 NIV).   In both the Gospels and the earliest of Christian writings those who were portrayed as being able to receive the Divine Manna were portrayed as being In The House -- i.e., as stated by Peter in the Clementine Homilies: “We remember that our Lord and teacher, as commanding, said to us, guard the mysteries for me, and the sons of my house. Wherefore also he explained to his disciples, privately, the mysteries of the kingdoms of the heavens.”  This fact -- i.e., that organic "natural" man in his undeveloped condition of mind and thinking could not comprehend the higher reality of the Soul and the Mysteries of the Kingdom was confirmed by Paul when he portrayed the organic comprehension of mankind as being of an "animal-soul" level of consciousness that was incapable of comprehending his own higher Soul-Reality (see Organic Man Ruled Over By His Lower Animal Nature ).   In conformation of the people's inability to comprehend with the necessary depth of understanding, it is written in the Epistle of Peter to James that if the original foundational teachings become corrupted or lost, that "...it will remain even for those who really seek the truth, always to wander in error".  And this has been proven to be true of the modern Church that has totally alienated the body of faith-based believers from the Truth (see The Original Teachings Have Nothing In Common With Church Dogma ).

Why Is The Foregoing True:  When a teacher speaks, what s/he conveys to the student or listener is of a linear and flat reality.   Jesus taught that our entrance into the Kingdom is within us -- i.e., "And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation: Neither shall they say, See here! or, see there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20-21).   If the words of Jesus are true -- and the Kingdom is within you -- then the question that Christians should be asking, is how must the Kingdom be entered?   Unless the instruction or teaching is able to connect you with the Inner Kingdom and Source of Knowledge, then it is worthless from a Higher Spiritual Perspective.   Therefore, the answer to the question is the proper application of what Jesus portrayed as the Key of Knowledge, by turning the scriptures within your own mind and being -- i.e., "How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law! For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering" (Luke 11:52).  Thus, in understanding these words spoken to the Pharisees, the questions must be asked: How did the Pharisees and Jewish authorities "...hide the key to knowledge from the people"?   Why did Jesus condemn the leaders of the Jews for failing to enter the Kingdom themselves? -- i.e., "...You don't enter the Kingdom yourselves"!   And how did the religious leaders of the Jews "...prevent others from entering?"   That the primary objective of the Gospel is to prepare and enable the seeker/disciple to enter the Kingdom that Jesus taught is within us, is further demonstrated in Jesus' condemnation of the blind religious leaders as seen in the words: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to" (Matt 23:13 NIV).  Which means that the Kingdom of God is not something that will come if we wait for it -- but rather, it is a reality which man must seek and find -- within himself.

The Kingdom is within us -- and the purpose and objective of all valid spiritual teachings is to connect the person we are in this world with first their Inner-Self, and then with the Indwelling Logos/Son of God that the disciples of Jesus portrayed as The True Prophet --  even conveying to Christian believers that it was a sin that defiled the required "wedding garment" to learn from any other Teacher: "But the ways in which this garment may be spotted are these: If any one withdraw from God the Father and Creator of all, receiving another teacher besides Christ, who alone is the faithful and True Prophet..." (see Sacraments Of The New Covenant ).  Which means that if a modern believer is not building upon the foundational paradigm that Jesus originally taught that was embraced by his original followers and disciples -- and has defiled this necessary foundational paradigm with man-made teachings and dogma that is Linear and Flat -- then those who call themselves Christians are factually portrayed as "...ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding” (Mark 4:11-12 NIV) -- with the fate of "...always to wander in error".
Jesus taught that those who have yet to put on the required "wedding garment" -- or have in any measure defiled it with sin -- including the sin of seeking any other teacher than the Indwelling Logos/Son of God who is The True Prophet -- has been thrown out into what Jesus portrayed as the "outer darkness" of mind and being -- where, being enveloped in abject ignorance, they will dwell in a realm where: "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matt 25:28-30 NKJ).   Which in the parable of the prodigal son, is portrayed as the Far Country that constitutes what is personified as a state of "spiritual death": "For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found" (Luke 15:24).   Which means that since the Kingdom is within you, the Journey in TheWay for the prodigal sons and daughters to return to the Edenic Kingdom of Origination from which they, themselves, abandoned, is an Inward Journey that requires the development of great depth of mind and being.  Which depth of mind cannot be achieved by Linear teachings promoted by any teacher of this world -- whether they are a religious teacher, a non-religious teacher, or any other authority of this world.  Essential to developing the foundational paradigm and framework of mind that would provide the necessary depth for the seeker/disciple to tap into the Truth of all Truths or Divine Manna that can only be received by those who have prepared themselves to receive it, is to make themselves the "good ground" in the parable of the Sower And The Seed -- of which Jesus stated: “Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?” (Mark 4:13 KJV).   Which conveys the reality that if you do not refine your lower nature and appetites -- i.e., “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live” (Rom 8:13 KJV) -- and become the "good ground" that restores the foundational paradigm that enables you to become the Living Consecrated Final Temple -- that it will remain impossible for you to understand both the spiritual meaning of the Gospel, and the higher reality of the Soul and the Mysteries of the Kingdom of God.   And if you have defiled the "wedding garment" by the sin of learning from and embracing the doctrines and dogma of men, then you have erected a great wall that inhibits you from acquiring the necessary depth of mind that enables you to begin to tap into the Inner Source of Light and Knowledge to even begin to receive the Divine Manna of the Kingdom -- i.e.,  "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.  To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna" (Rev 2:17).  When rightly understood, it is our own self that we each must overcome and prevail over.
Man-Made Beliefs Act As Obstacles:  Unless the foundational paradigm of your beliefs are conducive to permitting the crucial deepening and expanding of consciousness, then your beliefs will inhibit and obstruct your necessary development.  In the Encyclopedia Britannica under the heading, The History of Christian Mysticism, it reads: “Although the essence of mysticism is the sense of contact with the transcendent, mysticism in the history of Christianity should not be understood merely in terms of special ecstatic experiences but as part of a religious process lived out within the context of the Christian community. From this perspective mysticism played a vital part in the early church. Early Christianity was a religion of the spirit that expressed itself in the heightening and enlargement of human consciousness”.   The original disciples and followers of Jesus believed that he was a man who became At-One with the Indwelling Logos/Son of God at his baptism in the Jordan when the voice of God stated: "Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee" -- which statement was edited and changed by the Church of Constantine (see The Creation Of The Jesus-god).  Therefore, if you believe that Jesus was God incarnate -- and this was not the same teaching as Jesus taught to those who walked and talked with him daily over the course of a number of years -- then the whole train of your thinking will be an obstacle to the necessary process of deepening and expanding the mind (see The Ebionites http://TheCall.Nazirene.org#Ebionite ).  If your beliefs have been corrupted and defiled by man-made doctrines, then you are not following the Original Gospel Teachings (see The Essenes http://TheCall.Nazirene.org#Essene ).   If you believe that Jesus was God, and he was not, then you cannot move any further in the journey of TheWay until you first begin to seek the validity of this core Church doctrine -- or, as portrayed by the Adam Clark Commentary this way: If Jesus became the Son of God at his baptism, when the Holy Spirit descended upon him in the form of a dove and Anointed him (made him the Christ), "the whole Christian system is vain and baseless".  Why? The answer is simple: If Jesus was born a man -- a man whose soul had attained the highest level of perfection prior to his again entering into his life as Jesus -- and he became the Messiah/Christ or Anointed by fulfilling God's Law, as the disciples and original followers who were taught directly from him proclaimed, then Christians must totally alter their position on an uncountable number of important points -- wherein, each of us would then look to Jesus as the pattern that we must follow -- i.e., "Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple" (Luke 14:27 NAS).   With the result being that ONLY those who build upon the original foundational paradigm -- becoming the "good ground" -- are the ones to whom it was said: "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32).
Cultural Lifestyle That Inhibits Deepening of the Mind: It is easily proven that (1) the Ebionite Nazirene Disciples of Jesus were vegetarian for an important reason; and that (2) what you eat greatly effects the development of mind from a deepening and expanding spiritual perspective (see The Holographic Mind).   In like manner, it is easily demonstrated that in accord with the Nazirene Vow, the beard and hair of a man can be portrayed as a type of dendrite or nerve endings that connect the mind as manifest in the Ætheric Field that surrounds the body with man's physical consciousness (see The Nazirene Vow).  And yet, the vast majority of people choose our empty and spiritually devoid culture over the natural expressions of the body that deepens and expands man's consciousness.   Of the Essene Ebionite Nazirenes and the Disciples of Jesus, it is written of Jesus' brother Jacob/James by Eusebius Pamphilius: “This apostle was consecrated from his mother’s womb. He drank neither wine nor fermented liquors, and abstained from animal food. A razor never came upon his head” (Eusebius’s Ecclesiastical History, p. 76).  St. Augustine wrote that James, the brother of Jesus:  “...never ate animal food, living on seeds and vegetables, never tasting flesh or wine” (Ecclesiastical History, 2 Vols. Translated by H.J. Lawlor and J.E.L. Oulton).   Why was Jacob/James consecrated from the womb of his mother?   Abstaining from eating dead flesh, or shaving his beard or cutting his hair?   Which as a modern cultural practice, greatly inhibits the deepening of the mind that enables the seeker to perceive the spiritual meaning of the scriptures -- further inhibiting the recall of the previous lives one's Soul has lived (see Spiritual Amnesia ) -- and the blocking of the connection between our physical consciousness in this world, with our Higher Soul-Self and the Indwelling Logos/Son of God.    By choosing to be in harmony with the spiritually empty and void culture of this world, rather than living the necessary Consecrated Life of the Essene Ebionite Nazirene Disciples of Jesus, we are choosing a spiritually empty lifestyle that fails to support the necessary deepening and expansion of mind embraced by the original followers of Jesus.
Spiritually Flat-Lined: With the removal of the teachings on the pre-existent Soul that evolves to Wholeness and Completion over the course of many lifetimes (see Religion Of Roman Emperors), the religion of Christianity itself became spiritually flat-lined.  It is easily proven that the Biblically Based Mindset is erected upon the teaching of the pre-existent soul (see Biblical Mindset).  It is easily proven that the original pre-Nicene Church embraced the teaching on the pre-existent soul (see Early Christian Teaching On Pre-Existence)   With this important teaching removed by a series of pagan Emperors, Christians cannot fulfill the original purpose and objectives of the Gospel teachings, and therefore the majority of faith-based believers are unable to embrace and bring about any degree of spiritual maturity.   They remain at what Paul portrays as an undeveloped "animal-soul" level of consciousness (see Animal-Soul) -- too immature to comprehend both the spiritual meaning of the scriptures, as well as the life they are presently living with any functionable depth of understanding.  Thus, it remains impossible for the majority of Christians to in any manner even begin to fulfill the Original Gospel purpose and objectives (see The Original Teachings Have Nothing In Common With Church Dogma ).  And when presented with the concept of reincarnation being the Key to fulfilling the Original Gospel Teachings, the vast majority of faith-based believers have been so disenfranchised from the core teachings as personified at the previous link, the only answer that must be arrived at is seen in the fact that they are not at all follows and believers in Jesus -- but rather, followers of the Roman Mithraic-Christ -- who was born on December 25th, and resurrected on Easter (Ishtar).
If Jesus was a holy man who overcame and prevailed over the Law within himself -- enabling him to become At-One with the Indwelling Logos/Son of God -- then indeed the Adam Clark Commentary is correct in its assertion that "the whole Christian system is vain and baseless".   Why?   That the historical man Jesus was a pattern for all of mankind because of his success in overcoming and fulfilling the Laws within himself, is demonstrated in the words portraying the teachings of the original Ebionite Nazirene disciples that "He was the Christ of God, since not one of the rest of mankind had observed the Law completely. Had any one else fulfilled the commandments of the Law, he would have been the Christ..."  (see The Original Ebionite Disciples ).   And this confirms this statement with respect to the true potential of all of mankind that Jesus taught, as demonstrated in the words of Hippolytus when he wrote that this body of original core followers and disciple believed that when anyone "...thus fulfill the law, they are able to become Christs" (Hippolytus, Refut. Omn. Haer. vii. 34 - see http://Ebionite.com ).   Which means that what Jesus accomplished, is in fact the eventual destiny of all of mankind who are portrayed as the lost prodigal sons and daughters of their Heavenly Father.   And this is why Jesus taught that he was our brother -- i.e., "Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God'" (John 20:17 NIV).     That the historical Jesus was a true holy man who became the Anointed (Messiah/Christ) by fulfilling the Royal Law within himself, is attested to at Acts 2:22 where Jesus is portrayed as "a man, attested to you by God" -- and this was demonstrated by God performing "mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst".   If Jesus was himself God incarnate as believed by the later Romans, then these words portraying Jesus as a man approved by God through the works and wonders that God did through him, never would have been presented in this manner
The Mithraic Based Teaching Of Christianity:  The primary doctrine of the Church is not drawn from the Original Gospel teachings of TheWay -- but rather, the doctrine of Original Sin had to be imported from the Mithraic based teachings of the Iranian prophet Mani, in order to explain and fill the great void that the Church's suppression of important teachings on the pre-existent soul created.   Thereby creating a pagan foundation to the Church that rendered Christianity spiritually impotent.   Mithraism was a Mystery religion -- and as such, did not employ scriptures as a catalyst used in the process of Anamnesis - (The Innate Knowledge Of Higher Truth) to achieve an enlightened and spiritually mature condition of mind and being.  As a Mystery Religion, Mithraism was reliant upon a body of Initiates who were taught the inner Mysteries of the religion.  In contradistinction, the Gospels represented a departure from the Mystery Religion environment, and employed symbols that acted as Universal Catalysts that when founded and built upon the proper foundational mindset and lifestyle, possessed the ability to enlighten the sincere seeker through the process of the Anointing (Messiah/Christ) of the mind, which brought about the Unity with the Indwelling Logos/Son of God that dwells at the Core of our Being (see The True Prophet ).   Without the system of teachers and initiates, a Mystery religion very quickly degenerates into worthless empty symbolism.    With the corruption of the Gospels to make them support the tenets of Mithraism (see BibleCorruption.com ), the scriptures could no longer fulfill their intended purpose of evolving the mind of the believer that was conducive to achieving a state of spiritual maturity.   With the removal and suppression of the original teaching on the pre-existent soul, the Gospel teachings were rendered spiritually castrated.
The Spiritual Void:  Without the essential knowledge of the pre-existent soul, the person dwells in a state of abject-confusion.   To their framework of thinking, all of life becomes defined as a series of accidents that have no prearranged form or higher purpose.   The universe came into being with the big bang, where everything that exists was somehow formed from nothingness.   Mankind is portrayed as having evolved through a series of accidents that brought forth organic life.  Each of us was born through what is often portrayed as the accident of birth -- to live out haphazard lives where each encounter is an accident or series of chance encounters.  It is often reasoned that if a different sperm from out father had won the race with the one that formed our body by the merger with the ovum within the womb of our mother, then someone else would have been born in our place -- thus, taking the accident of birth to a whole new level.  In like manner, in their manner of thinking our accident of birth was responsible for our gender, our race, the culture we were born into, our educational opportunities, and even molded the life we have become immersed in.   Our fate is seen as ending with physical death, or is portrayed as a hopeful continuation as set forth in systems of blind-belief in any number of unproven religions and philosophies that are seen as having been drawn from myths and folklore.   There is no real answers to the greatest mysteries of life that most people take at face-value.
I am not at all stating that the person whose paradigm of thinking is in the foregoing Spiritual Void is lacking intelligence from a human perspective.   Only that such a person lacks the necessary true depth that is able to pierce through the natural limitations of organic human consciousness.   Such a person may arise to greatness in the eyes or in accord with the standards of this world -- while lacking the necessary depth to transcend the physical, and tap into the Greater Spiritual Reality that often totally alludes the vast majority mankind.
The Questions That Provoke Real Answers: Once the Gospel teachings on the pre-existent soul are embraced, the person becomes confronted with seriously important questions that have the capacity to greatly evolve our thinking -- opening the door to a level of spiritual maturity that is impossible for the person whose thinking is based upon accidents and a series of chance encounters.   From the original Gospel perspective, there are no accidents -- your soul which is Eternal, chooses the life you are presently living prior to your physical birth.   Which, instead of a foundational paradigm of unanswerable questions and assumptions drawn from a series of unknowable accidents, confronts the person with the reality that their soul not only chose the life they are presently living, but that the experiences of life were orchestrated by Laws which were previously invoked and molded by the Natural Laws of Creation -- and the future of their soul is being orchestrated and created by the thoughts and actions invoked in the present.   When Jesus taught: "Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.  For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged" (Matt 7:1-2), it is the forces and inherent powers of the Natural Laws that will bring this reality about in your life.   Which is why I portray the Sermon on the Mount as an exposition on the Natural Laws of Creation that each of us interacts with, in order to evolve us to a condition of Wholeness and Completion (see Jesus The Law Professor).
Your Soul chose the life you are presently living.  Therefore, you either choose the circumstances of your life, or they were forced upon you by your own previous actions which invoked the Natural Laws of Creation (see The Laws That Control Our Lives ).   Your own Soul chose your present gender, your race, your sexual-orientation, and the culture and society you were born into.   Your spouse, your immediate family members, all your friends and acquaintances, your soul has lived with and interacted with prior to your birth into this present life.   Soul's incarnate in groups that facilitate growth and development.  Your polarization of thought and opinions, your religion, your school of philosophy and/or lack thereof, are all drawn from the positive and negative associations of your soul's more distant past.  The role of the life you were born into -- the forces and encounters that have formed the body of your thinking -- and are presently playing out on the stage of life -- has all been orchestrated by the experiences of your soul's more distant past in conjunction of the Natural Laws that have brought you forth to your present station in life.   Your life is not based upon accidents and a series of chance encounters, and there is an important reason for every experience and opportunity that both confronts and is presented to you.   This means that you must yourself take ownership of your present circumstances of life -- and based upon the choices you have made, you are in the process of creating your future.
Life And Meaning Beyond the Superficial: In the paradigm of the Spiritual Void, there is no real purpose of life beyond the cultural paradigms you were born into, or the doctrines of superficial religion that in many cases have no real answers.   Why do I portray these various religions as superficial?   Because they lack the ability to both invoke even the learning process, or supply the answers to the above Questions That Provoke Real Answers.  Where those whose thinking is drawn from the framework of the void often portray themselves as the victim of the circumstances of their life,  those who understand the influence of the Natural Laws can never portray themselves as victims.  Whatever hardships you were born into, was either by choice, or the expression of the Natural Laws that were invoked by your Soul in your more distant past.    The Soul of mankind evolves through the process of confronting our own past actions and deeds -- i.e.,  “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Gal 6:7 NIV).  Therefore, if we are a victim, then we are a victim of our own past thinking and actions that have come back upon us in the present.
The Scriptures Employ Anamnesis: The scriptures are based upon the process of anamnesis -- or, drawing from a pre-existing source of knowledge from within the person's own mind.  The fact that Jesus taught that the Kingdom is within us, also means that the answers to the dilemmas of life can only be found within our own mind and being.   Jesus condemned the scribes and Pharisees for throwing away the Key of Knowledge (see The Fatal Error Of The Church) -- of which the Church Father Origen stated: “But all the narrative portion [of the scriptures], relating either to the marriages, or to the begetting of the children, or to battles of different kinds, or to any other histories whatever, what else can they be supposed to be, save the forms and figures of hidden and sacred things? As men, however, make little effort to exercise their intellect, or imagine that they possess knowledge before they really learn, the consequence is that they never begin to have knowledge".   What Origen is stating is that all the marriages and the begetting of children, along with the battles, are not historical accounts -- but rather, are representative of "...forms and figures of hidden and sacred things".  Which provokes the question: How can the student of the scriptures determine the meaning of these allegorical symbols and images of hidden and sacred realties?   Which leads us into the next half of the statement where Origen explains that "...As men, however, make little effort to exercise their intellect, or imagine that they possess knowledge before they really learn, the consequence is that they never begin to have knowledge".
How can Origen make the statement that "...As men ...make little effort to exercise their intellect"?  Don't those who study the scriptures "exercise their intellect" as they read the scriptures?  Sadly, the answer is: Only if they are of the foundational mindset that Provokes Real Answers as presented in the above.   And this is especially demonstrated in the profound statement of Peter who is quoted in the Homilies of his disciple Clement where he states that: "...therefore great care is to be taken, that when the law of God is read, it be not read according to the understanding of our own mind. For there are many sayings in the divine Scriptures which can be drawn to that sense which every one has preconceived for himself; and this ought not to be done. For you ought not to seek a foreign and extraneous sense, which you have brought from without" (see  The Innate Knowledge Of The Truth Of All Truths - Anamnesis).   Which presents the reality that totally contradicts the whole body of thinking promoted by the Church -- i.e., that what you would assume the scriptures are stating based upon your own or human reasoning is not true -- and if you truly desire to understand the spiritual meaning of the scriptures, then you cannot at all rely upon human interpretations or understandings brought from outside (without) -- and the true meaning must be drawn from that part of your mind that is above and beyond your own (human) thinking and understanding.   What this represents is a total rejection of all Bible Commentaries and Church teachings -- which human interpretations was the basis of Jesus condemning the scribes and Pharisees as blind-guides who failed to properly utilize the scriptures as the Key of Knowledge  (see The Fatal Error Of The Church).  The scriptures are not a series of historical accounts as Fundamentalists erroneously believe.  Which provoked the Church Historian Eusebius to warn: “Many were led astray by reading the allegorical contents of the scriptures literally in the method of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”    And in what can be portrayed as confirmation of Origen's statement that "...As men, however, make little effort to exercise their intellect", Eusebius writes about the early Christian Papias:  “Papias reproduces other stories communicated to him by word of mouth, together with some otherwise unknown parables and teachings of the Saviour, and other things of a more allegorical character. He says that 'after the resurrection of the dead there will be a period of a thousand years when Christ's kingdom will be set up on this earth in material form'. I suppose he got these notions by misinterpreting the apostolic accounts and failing to grasp what they said in mystic and symbolic language. For he seems to have been a man of very small intelligence, to judge from his books..."  (Eusebius, Hist Eccl., Book III, 39.11).   Why are those who fail to understand the allegorical mystic and symbolic language of "...very small intelligence"?  Because, by basing their thinking on what is personified above in the Spiritual Void framework of mind, and relying upon human interpretations of the sacred writings, they have made the same error that Jesus condemned the scribes and Pharisees for making.
While the process of Anamnesis is implied in the above statement of Peter with respect to seeking a "foreign and extraneous sense" in one's interpretation of the scriptures, under the heading of Anamnesis (Philosophy), the Wikipedia states: It is the idea that humans possess knowledge from past incarnations and that learning consists of rediscovering that knowledge within us. The article then goes on to say: Socrates' response is to develop his theory of anamnesis. He suggests that the soul is immortal, and repeatedly incarnated; knowledge is actually in the soul from eternity...  What one perceives to be learning, then, is actually the recovery of what one has forgotten. (Once it has been brought back it is true belief, to be turned into genuine knowledge by understanding.) And thus Socrates (and Plato) sees himself, not as a teacher, but as a midwife, aiding with the birth of knowledge that was already there in the student.   While the English language is spiritually dead, Jñāna in Sanskrit means "knowledge" -- but, like the Greek word Gnosis, the word Jñāna portrays Knowledge acquired through Meditation -- i.e., looking within one's own mind at a deeper level.
This reality of the existence of a deeper level of consciousness and an inner Source of Knowledge is portrayed in the statement by the Church Father Origen on using the scriptures as the Key of Knowledge where he wrote: “But all the narrative portion [of the scriptures], relating either to the marriages, or to the begetting of the children, or to battles of different kinds, or to any other histories whatever, what else can they be supposed to be, save the forms and figures of hidden and sacred things? As men, however, make little effort to exercise their intellect, or imagine that they possess knowledge before they really learn, the consequence is that they never begin to have knowledge".   It is important to take note of Origen's statement that "...As men, however, make little effort to exercise their intellect, or imagine that they possess knowledge before they really learn" -- where reference is being made to an Inner Source of Knowledge that mankind possesses, even before they even begin to learn in the traditional outward manner.   Further, Origen correctly states with respect to the (allegorical) text of the scriptures that "...all the narrative portion [of the scriptures], relating either to the marriages, or to the begetting of the children, or to battles of different kinds, or to any other histories whatever", do not at all pertain to historical accounts of man's more distant past -- but rather, are allegorical presentations of the Forces and Laws of Consciousness that are presently working within man's own mind and being.   Why?   How could Origen who was called the prince of Christian learning second only to the Apostles themselves, state that the historical interpretation of the scriptures is "worthless"?  And that what is presented in the written text as marriages, the begetting of children, and the many various wars and battles are not at all historical -- but rather, an allegorical portrayal of the Forces and Laws working within one's own mind and being?  Because the essential truths needed to access the Inner Source of Knowledge is allegorically presented in the quasi-historical text of the scriptures -- i.e., Origen explains in De Principiis that “Where the word found that things done according to the history could be adapted to these mystical senses, he made use of them concealing from the multitude the deeper meaning; but where in the narrative of the development of super-sensual things, there did not follow the performance of those certain events which were already indicated by the mystical meaning, the scripture interwove in the history the account of some event that did not take place, sometimes what could not have happened; sometimes what could but did not.”   And that the carnal mind of both the blind believer, as well as the skeptic critic, both attempt to ignore these important inconsistencies (see Inconsistencies Purposely Written Into Body Of Scriptural Text), and attempt to read the scriptures as an historical account, inhibits them from perceiving and understanding the great truths that lie concealed beneath the allegorical texts.

Light Of The World: The Gospel Teachings were intended to raise up a people who would be the Light of the World that provides a spiritual ladder for the lost prodigal sons and daughters to escape the dark ignorance of this world, and arrive on the Higher Plane that is personified as the Edenic Kingdom of Origination.  Why do I use the term Origination?  Because like the prodigal son, each of us dwelt in the beginning in the Edenic Kingdom -- but having journeyed to this, the Far Country, we have been stricken with what is best portrayed as Spiritual Amnesia (see http://AnInconvenientTruth.org#SpiritualAmnesia ).
