Intelligence & Jacob's Ladder  

The "ladder" which is portrayed as the proverbial Jacob's Ladder, represents step-by-step INNER development of the mind to receive and comprehend higher realizations of Essential Truth. An important reference to the Ladder of Expanded Consciousness has been preserved in the 90th chapter of the Gospel of the Nazirenes where it states: "God gives you all truth, as a ladder with many steps, for the salvation and perfection of the soul, and the truth which seems today, you will abandon for the higher truth tomorrow. Press toward perfection."

Another example of man's quest to see and understand Higher Truth is presented in the above Gospel where Jesus explains: "When one climbs a mountain and attaining one height, he says, this is the top of the mountain, let us reach it, and when they have reached that height, lo, they see another beyond it until they come to that height from which no other height is to be seen, if so be they can attain it". Why is the statement made: "...if so be they can attain it"? In order to begin to grab the next rung of the ladder, you must be able to let go of the previous rung that you have outgrown -- i.e., "...the truth which seems today, you will abandon for the higher truth tomorrow. Press toward perfection."

With respect to the Truth of the Gospels, Jesus then makes reference to his own quest for Higher Truth: "So it is with truth. I am the truth and the way and the life, and have given to you the truth which I have received from above. And that which is seen and received by one, is not seen and received by another. That which appears true to some, seems not true to others. They who are in the valley don't see what they who are on the hill top see" What Jesus was saying is that he, having climbed to the top of Jacob's Ladder, is conveying to others the Truth that he has seen and understands -- i.e., "I... have given to you the truth which I have received from above". And when rightly understood, the purpose of the Gospels is to provide all seekers with the necessary process that will enable them to climb to the top of Jacob's Ladder. And having yourself made the journey in TheWay, you will know and do all that your brother Jesus did before you. In the same way that after climbing to the top of Jacob's Ladder the historical man Jesus could receive and understand the sacred wisdom and knowledge that he was only then able to receive -- i.e., "I... have given to you the truth which I have received from above" -- you will only be of an enlightened understanding when you also arrive at the top of Jacob's Ladder as your elder spiritual brother Jesus did.

You could have a 180 IQ -- born with the potential of superior human intellect -- and if you continue to cling to the lower rung of the ladder, your (mental) advancement will remain flat-lined. Why? "When I was a child, I was speaking like a child, I was thinking like a child, I was reasoning like a child; when I became a man, I did away with the things of the child" (1 Cor 13:11). Those who cling to elementary ideas and concepts about life, cannot mentally and spiritually advance beyond the infantile state of mind representative of that rung they continue to grasp and refuse to let go of. Quoting from the Wikipedia article on the analogy of Plato's Cave: "Like the fire that cast light on the walls of the cave, the human condition is forever bound to the impressions that are received through the senses" (see Plato - The Physicist http://KnowThySelf.Nazirene.org#Plato ), unless we begin to open our minds to the level of consciousness representative of the next rung of Jacob's Ladder, it will remain impossible for us to advance beyond a level where, like the prisoners in Plato's Cave, it will remain impossible for us to embrace the process of growth through mental-expansion and spiritual-deepening.

In the article How to Escape the Confines of Time and Space According to the CIA, an important statement is made with respect to why most people can't recall the lives that their Soul has lived.  Quoting the article: "...the left side of the brain [Linear/Male] screens incoming stimuli, categorizing, assessing and assigning meaning to everything through self-cognitive, verbal, and linear reasoning. The left hemisphere then dishes the carefully prepared data to the non-critical, holistic, pattern-oriented right hemisphere [Intiitive/Feminine], which accepts everything without question. Because the Linear/Male spheres of mind look outwardly, and do not have access to the inward knowledge gained from their Soul's previous lives, the Linear/Male blocks all knowledge associated with the person's previous lives.  And unless you use a catalyst to awaken and make the Feminine/Intuitive active, the whole of your thinking will remain earth-bound and spiritually flat-lined.  And this is why the scriptures -- and especially the Gospels -- are composed using allegorical symbols that act as catalysts to inhibit the Linear from dominating the Intuitive -- thereby permitting the person to begin to tap into the Inner Teacher.  Quoting from The Purpose Of The Scriptures http://GospelCosmology.Ebionite.com#PurposeOfTheScriptures :  The Kingdom is Within You -- and yet, few people are even aware of its existence at the core of their consciousness. Why? In order to develop the Intuitive and utilize the process of Anamnesis ( http://AnInconvenientTruth.org#Innate , to slowly bring about the deepening and expansion of mind that enables the seeker to learn directly from the Indwelling Logos/Son of God portrayed as the True Prophet. Which means that when critics portray the scriptures as being poorly written -- contradicting other Gospels -- that they contain countless inconsistencies and discordances -- that they plagiarized other religions -- and that they totally lack continuity with the Old Testament -- these critics fail to understand the higher purpose and objective of the Sacred Writings. Why? Because the countless inconsistencies, discordances and contradictions were intentionally inserted into the written text to develop the inward-looking Intuitive spheres of mind that are suppressed by the outward-looking Linear spheres of mind. The embedded higher spiritual meaning of the scriptures can only be understood by the Intuitive spheres of mind that remain atrophied by the over-development of the Linear outward-looking spheres of mind. And in their linear-minded critique, those who only see the inconsistencies, discordances and contradictions of the scriptures -- without understanding why the discordances were intentionally inserted into the text of the written word -- are people who sentence themselves to lives of being mentally inhibited and flat-lined -- and with their lack of inward-looking perception, these people are doomed to being spiritually disenfranchised. When rightly understood with respect to the purpose and objective of the scriptures, the inconsistencies and discordances, along with the re-engineered myths and folklore -- were not only inserted into the written text so that they would make absolutely no literal/historical sense to the linear-minded reader -- but this obstacle to a linear interpretation is necessary in order to force the linear to begin to communicate and learn from the inward looking intuitive-insights and interpretations, in order to evolve the mind to understand from a higher enlightened plane of comprehension. The scriptures are not designed to teach the person what they need to know? The scriptures are designed to develop the inward-looking innate aspects of mind and bring about the necessary condition of Wholeness that enables the person to begin to be taught by the indwelling True Prophet. 

In the same way that men can physically dominate and even enslave women -- as is the case in many Islamic cultures -- the same is true with respect to the power of the Linear (male) spheres of mind totally dominating the Intuitive (feminine) spheres of mind as explored at Linear Vs Intuitive Development Of Mind http://TreeOfLife.Nazirene.org#LinearVsIntuitive ).  To the degree that when the Feminine/Intuitive is released from the control of the Male/Linear, the Male/Linear is often portrayed as Lying to the Feminine/Intuitive (see Opening And Unlocking Of The Mind http://SoulSelf.org#OpeningAndUnlockingTheMind ).  When the scriptures are rightly understood as an allegorical blueprint of your own mind, then the conflict between the Male and Female Columns of the Tree of Life/Duality is demonstrated in the scriptures.  Quoting from Women Who Promote Feminine Gender Abuse http://TreeOfLife.Nazirene.org#FeminienGenderAbuse   

When rightly understood from a higher enlightened perception of man's reality, women can't be equal by competing with men in the male's areas of strengths -- and women can only be equal by fully embracing their feminine nature, and by being everything that men cannot be. Which means that women will have to begin to convey to men their unique abilities that not only make them opposite to men -- but are necessary for men and women to manifest Completion and Wholeness. Which means that women will have to begin to oppose being defined by a male perception of intellect. By their very biological nature, most men are incapable of Inward Intuitive Perception. All learning to them is from an external source. Women, on the other hand, possess greatly important Intuitive Insights that most men in their natural organic state of mind, are incapable of comprehending.

In the introduction to the scripture, Secrets of Mary Magdalene, Prof. Elain Pagels writes and quotes the Gospel of Philip: Simultaneously, the Gospel of Philip celebrates Mary Magdalene as manifesting the divine spirit, which this gospel calls the “virgin who came down” from heaven. When Christians spoke of Jesus “born from a virgin,” this author agrees—but refuses to take it literally. So some people, he says, take this literally to mean that Jesus’ mother became pregnant apart from any man, apart from sexual intercourse. But this, he says, is the “faith of fools” who fail to comprehend spiritual matters (although, as we note, it can be seen in the birth narratives offered in the New Testament gospels of Matthew and Luke). Instead, continues the Gospel of Philip, Jesus was born physically, just as all humans, as the son of biological parents. The difference, says the author of this gospel, that he was also “born again” in baptism--born spiritually to become the son of the Father above, and of the heavenly Mother, the Holy Spirit.

As with all the names and accounts of people used as symbols and catalysts in the allegorical scriptures, biblical figures such as Mary Magdalene are not the personification of an actual historical person -- but rather, the personification of a realty of the Feminine Mind and Consciousness that is often suppressed by the Male Linear Consciousness. And what is being portrayed in the Gospel is the raising up and development of the (feminine) intuitive aspects of the disciples own mind. Mary Magdalene is portrayed as the “'virgin who came down' from heaven", indicating the purity of the Feminine that is undefiled by the Linear-Logic and the thinking of this world. A woman who has been taught to think and function in a linear-logical framework of mind with the suppression and atrophy of her natural intuitive abilities -- remains incapable of tapping into mankind's Higher Inner Reality that few men possess the intuitive vision to understand -- and are often totally reliant upon women to develop their own intuitive perspective-vision and understanding of man's higher Soul and Spiritual Reality.

In the Gospels associated with Mary Magdalene it is written: “She speaks to the other disciples about Jesus and what she’s seen, and Peter says, ‘I don’t believe the Lord said these things. These are certainly strange ideas.’ And she says, ‘Well, do you think I made them up? Do you think I’m lying about the Lord?’ ” In this allegorical representation, the linear-rational aspect of mind is represented in Peter's inability to comprehend what the feminine-intuitive as represented in the allegorical personification of Mary Magdalene reveals. And since these intuitive visions, impressions and wisdom does not support the linear reasoning of the masculine vision of this world and Creation, in most people they are rejected. In the same way that the allegorical portrayal of Peter as representing the (male) linear-rational spheres of mind states of the intuitive visions and wisdom of Mary Magdalene: "...These are certainly strange ideas", it is a fact that it is the lopsided development of what Einstein portrayed as the linear-rational servant that inhibits the development of the intuitive-gift -- i.e., as seen in Einstein's statement that “The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.” Without the balanced development of the intuitive spheres of mind, the linear-rational spheres which only senses outwardly, arrives at a point where it becomes what can be portrayed as flat-lined -- which in turn inhibits the further development of the linear rational servant from itself maturing beyond organic limitations.
